Meet Rupa Pereira with FWJ Planning

As we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Island heritage month, and recognize the historical and cultural contributions of individuals and groups of Asian and Pacific Islander origin, we’d like to introduce you to Rupa Pereira.

Born and raised in India, Rupa dreamt of opportunities not afforded to girls and those in lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Following those childhood dreams with resilience and grit, Rupa came to the US in her early 20’s on an H1B visa, $200 borrowed cash, and 2 suitcases.

Now, 25 years later, she reflects on overcoming trials, career pivots and "bamboo ceilings" while humbly declaring that "she feels joyful about achieving financial independence".

Rupa's journey as an immigrant has fueled her desire to help other immigrant households on their path to financial fulfillment.

In 2022, just one year shy of her 50th birthday, she launched her RIA (Registered Investment Adviser) FWJ Planning as a virtual, advice-only, fee for service firm advising clients throughout the US. Given Rupa's background and life experiences, she's uniquely positioned to serve South-Asian families in a judgment-free space where she can relate to cross-border nuances, cultural context and behavioral psychology.
