LSF Grant for Women in Finance

Lucy Shair filled a void in an industry where women are underrepresented.  She had a unique and unwavering passion for empowering others, especially women, and harnessed that passion in financial advising.  She prioritized the philosophy that financial knowledge leads to financial wellbeing and worked to not only advise her clients but also educate.  Outside of her business, she volunteered in schools to teach financial literacy, developed private social media groups for discussion and even started an online financial literacy and investing class for kids during the covid lock-downs. Lucy was a force for positive change and encouraged women to dream boldly, pursue their passions, and take control of their own finances.

The Lucy Shair Foundation will award a $5,000 financial grant each year to women who are working to become, or who already are, a financial advisor, in order to help offset expenses that pose barriers to entry or barriers to advancement. Such expenses may include costs associated with licensure, office space, professional fees and memberships, professional conferences and training, and other continuing education.

Grant recipients will be chosen by the current founding Board of Directors. They will be looking for women who embody Lucy’s qualities - passion, community, empowerment and knowledge. The 2022 grant cycle is closed, please enter your name and email below to be notified when the 2023 grant cycle opens.
